of president obama's state of the union address tonight but domestic issues will probably be the main focus of the speech. the president is expected to call for more money for infrastructure, clean energy and manufacturing jobs. >> the president's principle preoccupation since he ran for this office in the beginning of 2007 has been what we need to do to make our economy work for the middle class. >> the official republican response will come from u.s. senator marco rubio out of florida, expected to emphasize the need for smaller government and less regulations. kpix 5 will air the president's state of the union address live tonight starting at 6 p.m. followed by a special edition of kpix 5 news at 7:30. federal agents think the former l.a. police officer accused of killing three people may be heading to mexico. a newly released security video shows christopher dorner buying scuba equipment. it was taken in torrence two days before the murder of a

police captain's daughter and her fiance. an affidavit for an arrest warrant now gives u.s. marshals the power to extradite him. it cites probable cause that he is heading to mexico to avoid prosecution after an asian found his wallet and id car near the san ysidro point of entry. deputies are continuing to search big bear east of los angeles. 30 deputies from san bernardino county are taking part in the manhunt. they say if dorner is in the area, they will find him. they have been searching trails leading into snowy mountainsides looking for any signs of activity. >> it looked just like afghanistan or something with the camel and everything but they did a great job going house to house checking everything and i thought they were doing a thorough job. >> schools that were closed last friday were open again yesterday but residents in the area are still hoping for word that dorner has been captured. one man is dead, four others wounded in a shooting in

vallejo. it happened last night. this morning police are trying to piece together the evidence. kpix 5 reporter elissa harrington is in vallejo to give us an update. >> this is an active crime scene. police have been investigating more than 8 hours now. they say that five people were shot here on the 800 block of humboldt street last night. neighbors first reported hearing gunshots at around 8:30. when police arrived, they found two men inside of the garage suffering from gunshot wounds. they were then taken to the hospital and one of them died. now, it's unclear if either of those men lived at the home where they were found. around the same time, three people also suffering from gunshot wounds walked into sutter solano medical center. >> everything right now is in preliminary stages of the investigation. unknown as to who the suspect as victims are, whatever transpired here. and what we're doing right now is trying to piece everything

together. >> reporter: investigators last night were trying to determine if those three people who walked into the hospital were connected to the shooting here on humboldt street. i got an update this morning. officers tell me that they are certain that all of them were involved in the shooting here and all of them suffered their wounds here on scene. now, there's no additional details about their injuries. investigators did find several shell casings on the street outside of the home. they have no suspect description and have made no arrests. this marks the second homicide in vallejo this year. live in vallejo, elissa harrington, kpix 5. a five-hour standoff between police and bank robbers in newark ended with a suspect surrendering. this video from chopper 5 shows the easy 8 motel where the suspects in a fremont robbery barricaded themselves. one of the men gave himself up about 3:30 afternoon and 5 hours for negotiators to talk

the others into giving up. a man was critically wounded when richmond police shot him several times. officers were called to an apartment complex on nevin avenue about 5:00 p.m. yesterday. the call was about a man with a gun. shortly after they aevidence re, officers shot the man -- shortly after they arrived, officers shot the man. 4:36. the los gatos town council voted unanimously last night to consider a moratorium on future retailers who want to sell guns but gun sales will continue at the store that began all that controversy. the debate began last year after templar sports opened on university avenue. the only retailer in los gatos to sell guns including assault rifles. >> there are plenty of places to purchase a firearm. the question is, why do we need to be one of those places? >> the only thing that stops a crazy man with a gun is a good guy with a gun. good guys can't get guns if they don't have stores to go to.

>> the store's owner says he received death threats. town officials say los gatos had no local restrictions on gun sales when templar sports applied for the business license last year. the store has complied with state and federal laws so it will be allowed to continue in business. time now 4:37. why don't we get another check on the weather? >> the big warmup coming down this week. >> loving it. >> today backing off a little on the temperatures but after this, some of these numbers get near 70. so we have some great weather to come. high pressure weakening somewhat. we have seen more of a sea breeze kicking in today and that's allowed some low clouds and fog to creep in near the coastline. you can see some of that showing up on our satellite image now. and really that's where it's going to stay for the most part at the coast. more moisture in the atmosphere no offshore wind so it looks like we could see fog at the coast but clear skies in fairfield. 31 degrees. we are seeing some valley fog too in some of the north bay valleys so watch out for that. chilly inland.

throughout the day, high pressure going to remain in place. looks like it is going to start to build the next few days and warming up the temperatures but maybe backing off just a little bit today. you will see numbers into the 50s at the coastline. about 61 san francisco sunshine. and about 62 degrees in san jose. could see some 70s this week. we'll at the you where and when coming up. let's check the roads with elizabeth. >> it's busy out there. we have one crash going on northbound 280 approaching that serramonte boulevard exit. police are on scene. one lane is blocked and you can see a little bit of slowing on ourensers coming up northbound 280 so except for that accident, we just have your overnight roadwork going on including just north of the golden gate bridge northbound 101 approaching the waldo tunnel. they have several lanes blocked due to overnight roadwork there. outside here's a live look at the nimitz 880 in oakland. they continue to work on that widening project from oakland all the way down into san leandro. so it sounds like they are in the clearing stages now. technically according to caltrans supposed to be picked up by 5:00 this morning.

that's from hegenberger down towards marina on southbound 880. elsewhere to the bay bridge now, no delay approaching the bay bridge toll plaza. you will find various lanes blocked on the incline section of the span once you get past the pay gates but obviously it's still so early not causing much of a delay getting into the city and a quick check near the dublin interchange, westbound and eastbound 580 both at the limit. that's traffic. back to you guys. >> and we thank you, liz. a maritime safety group may adopt some new rules on thursday limiting ships from staying under the bay bridge during foggy conditions. this follows an accident last month when an empty tanker called the overseas reymar struck the base of a tower and now a working group of the harbor safety committee recommends barring ships from sailing north under the bay bridge when visibility is a half mile or less. petaluma bar pilot whose container ship struck the bay bridge in 2007 is suing to get

around the bay area today so a sign of a little sea breeze kinging in. temperatures coming down a couple of degrees but not by much. out there right now looking at patchy fog even in the valleys. still chilly temperatures down there and numbers into the 30s inland, 40s elsewhere. i think this afternoon, we'll see highs running in the 50s near the coastline to mostly sunny but a couple of patches of fog there, 60s inside the bay and a lot of 60s maybe mid- 60s showing up in some of the valleys. high pressure is going to very main in place and that ridge really a strong system sending the jet stream well to the north will continuing to do so today and actually strengthening toward the latter part of the week so staying dry some very, very mild days ahead warmer as we get toward the weekend. some of the temperatures may hit 70 degrees in the latter part of the week. numbers for today, about 62 degrees and sunny in fresno. 64 in sacramento. 43, clouds in lake tahoe. 49 in yosemite. around the bay today we'll find some sunshine and about 62 in san jose. couple of patches of fog into

pacifica and half moon bay. temperatures there in the upper 50s. east bay should see mostly sunny skies and hazy by the afternoon. 61 in livermore, 64 pleasanton, and 64 degrees in the napa valley. north bay looking at 64 degrees and sunny in santa rosa. about 61 in san francisco. and 57 and patchy fog into daly city. next couple of days it looks like we are going to see some warmer weather on the way. and how about this? by thursday and friday, temperatures getting near 70 degrees in some of the warmer spots staying nice and dry, elizabeth, right through the weekend. >> i like that. 70 degrees in the seven-day forecast, like that! outside now, we are doing okay on the roads. we are dealing with a couple of difference incidents and then we have your overnight roadwork, as well. so i want to show you one of the spots where things are running smoothly. here's a live look at the san mateo bridge. westbound and eastbound 92 still moving at the limit. other live traffic cameras they continue that widening project on southbound 880 from hegenberger towards the san leandro exit. so again northbound and

southbound both moving at the limit but various lanes blocked just in the southbound direction between oakland and san leandro. accident northbound 280 approaching serramonte. this is an injury clash. chp is blocking one lane. 280 is the slower road now than 101. it is sluggish approaching the serramonte boulevard exit. to the south bay big story they are going to be turning on the new metering lights. they are activating them today at 6 a.m. on northbound 280 through downtown san jose. again, that's just in time for the morning drive between 6 and 10 a.m. coming up, we'll check mass transit. back to you guys. the senate armed services committee is set to vote today on whether chuck hagel should be confirmed as president obama's next secretary of defense. the former senator from nebraska has been criticized by members of his own republican party for comments he made on israel as well as his past

opposition of sanctions against iran. if the committee approved him, his nomination would be sent to a full senate vote. a former navy seal who says he killed bin laden ben is leaving the military without a pension or health benefits. he spoke to "esquire" magazine and the centers for investigative reporting identified only as the shooter he described the moment when he pointed his gun at bin laden. >> he shot him once in the foremet and another time in the foremet as he is going down and then a third time in the forehead when he was at the foot of his bed obviously probably already dead. >> so why is he coming forward now? well, he got out of the military four years early, which makes him ineligible for his pension and he says he is struggling to file a disability claim. the shooter also claims he has no protection for himself or his family from possible retaliation. you may want to check your credit report. a new government study found about 25% of consumers have an error in one of their credit
